Edward and Bella go to school for Show And Tell

Parker wanted to take Edward and Bella to school last week for show and tell. Being the sweet Mother I am, I said of course, but you have to put them in the box. I have still yet to touch the ducks. I do not know exactly why, but I just do not want to touch them. I knew, though, that after show and tell I would have to take them home and put them in the cage myself. So, we get to school and even Sarah Foster wanted to take them to her class. She did pet them for maybe 1/2 a second!! She is scared of them...imagine that!! We get to Parker's class and everyone is so excited. Mrs. Susie is so sweet she lets them get on the floor and even got them some water. Parker did so well in talking about how we care for them and what they like to do. The ducks even left presents on the floor, and Mrs. Susie cleaned it right up and did not miss a beat!! Great show and tell.

and then.....Parker puts the ducks back in the box for me. I carry them out to the van and put them in the back. They are snuggled up and not making a peep. I am talking on my phone, as I pull in the driveway, and I am putting stuff in Chad's car. I am still on the phone, and just hop in Chad's car and take off to have the oil changed. When I get there, I am talking to Chad on the phone and he asks about show and tell and if I was able to feed and water the ducks. "DUCKS," I scream. Oh my gosh, I forgot the ducks. Chad said what do you mean you forgot the ducks. I tell him they are still in the back of the van!!! It is going to take an hour and a half for the car, so I text Leigh Ann to see if she will pick me up when she leaves Kroger. It is pretty warm, and what if something happened to those ducks. My children would be devastated!! In the mean time, I call Ginger at home and her cell. Can not get her she is in the shower. Probably 2 minutes later she calls me back, but it feels like 20. She says "Mika, I am in my robe, with my hair in a towel and no panties!" "If something has happened to those ducks, I am going to be very upset with you!!" She is screaming for Allie to help save the ducks as she hangs up the phone. Thankfully they walk next door and the ducks are fine. They are still snuggled up, but quacking now!! Sweet Allie puts them back in their cage. Ginger calls later that night and said when Allie was saying her prayers she said "thank you God for helping us get the ducks out of Mrs. Mika's van alive!!" Ha....what a day on Valley Road!!

I still have not touched the ducks. Parker told me today "Mama you need to touch a duck. They are really sweet." Maybe tomorrow I will:)!!

Balloon Festival

I took Parker and Sarah Foster to a balloon festival today. It was too windy for the balloons to go up, which is very funny to me being from Oklahoma!! So, the kids had their faces painted, jumped in a lot of bouncy houses and had a snow cone!!

Oh...and had their picture taken with the Chick Fil A cow. Which is also funny to me, Sarah Foster is usually scared of the cow. This was a big step for her.

Easter

Easter morning with their baskets. They loved all their goodies, and two of the three could tell us the real meaning of Easter. They said Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and today he had risen!!

The only picture I have of them in their church clothes before they were dirty!!
They look so sweet

Spreading Joy Before Easter

8 moms and 22 children went to spread Easter joy to an assisted living center in Tupelo. The kids got together at Charlotte and John David's to decorate bags to take to the residents. They decorated and the moms filled the bags with goodies. We then went to the center and the kids ran up and down the halls delivering bags of goodies. They made sure they missed no one!! It was so sweet to see and teach them to be giving and bring a little sunshine to some very nice people. As we were leaving, the children sang Jesus Loves Me!! It was so sweet.

Wow what a crew!!

Edward and Bella

This is Allie and Parker holding two little Easter ducks Chad brought home for the kids. Allie and Parker love them. Sarah Foster is afraid of them and Walker just laughs and points at them. Chad thinks I need intense psychotherapy because I named them Edward and Bella after the Twilight Saga. I thought it was fitting for my obsession. It is really cute to hear the kids call their names and chase them around the yard!! I sure hope they do not live forever..HA HA!! Seriously, in a few weeks we are going to take them to a friends neighborhood and release them in the pond.

Visit with Papa

My dad came to visit and we went to Huntsville for two days. We drove over early Monday morning in the cold and rain to the Air and Space Museum. The kids did have a great time, but they would have liked it more if they were older. The big rockets and play area for their age were closed because of the rain.

Their favorite part was swimming with Papa at the hotel!!

Trip to the Zoo

7 moms and around 15 children from Tupelo went to Memphis to the Zoo. The kids had a great time. I have a lot more pictures of the day, but for some reason they will not upload. I have been trying for 2 days, so this is all I was able to do!!
